New Orleans- Retailer-manufacturer Ethan Allen helped furnish the home of a family here, devastated first by a death in the family and then the destruction of their home by Hurricane Katrina.
When the father of her three children was killed in a drive-by shooting 12 years ago, Donniecia Allen pressed on, working two jobs and taking business classes at night, determined to someday own a home for her family. Four years ago, she bought a four-bedroom brick ranch home in Orleans Parish, but her dream was shattered when Hurricane Katrina hit. Her family lost.
Pulaski Donates Furniture to Habitat Group (Furniture Today)
Pulaski, Va. Manufacturer and importer Pulaski Furniture has donated $40,000 worth of furniture to Habitat for Humanity. The company’s Dawson Furniture subsidiary, based in Webb City, Mo., contributed a number of children’s twin bed sets to the Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity in that state’s Jasper County. “We are proud to assist Habitat for Humanity in helping provide housing and furnishings to families in need,” said Larry Webb, Pulaski president.
